Department of Engineering Management and Economics

Mission

Quality Strategy of the Faculty of Engineering Department of Engineering Management and Economics

Our principle and goal is to know the needs of our training stakeholders and how they are changing and evolving. We monitor the trends and expectations of the external economic environment. We strive to train techno-economic professionals with up-to-date skills and competencies relevant to the labour market.

Our approach to quality is based on the value chain and partnership:

- internal clients (students, teachers, researchers, consultants, etc.)

- local society (local government, civil society, businesses, etc.)

- society as a whole (ITM, MAB, national educational and scientific organisations, etc.)

- international (macro-regional, European Union, etc.) needs to implement our teaching and research.

In the training process, our aim is to achieve coherence between the training process, the administrative system, and other service activities that support training, the measurement system, quality assurance, and stakeholder monitoring systems.

In the research process, we seek consistency between the provision of information, management, research infrastructure, administration, documentation, and publication of results; we strive to develop an institutional profile that meets the needs of the profession.

Our human resources development aims to ensure that our teachers and researchers integrate the results of science into their teaching, are professionals who use modern methods of personal development and teaching methodology, are able to use multimedia and telecommunication tools, and are able to teach in a foreign language. They should be involved in, manage, and communicate research issues in line with international trends in their field.

We want to strengthen the commitment of our staff to the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged, which can be achieved through an image that ensures that it is a pleasure to teach, to do research, and to be an employee of this institution.

We prioritise partnership in our work, both nationally and internationally. We seek to involve our teachers, researchers and students in the work of the business sector and other educational and research institutions and to undertake longer or shorter periods of teaching and research in our partner institutions abroad.

We are committed to the high-quality, coordinated maintenance and development of practice-based education and research. We strive to ensure that our graduates enhance the reputation of our institute and provide a good reference for the quality of our teaching and research.
